Down South

Last friday, the whole family went down to Singapore, to attend my cousin, Benedict's wedding. We left at around 7.45pm, after my brother finished his school and I finished my MOCK exam. Dad made some bihun as our light dinner, whilst we had sushi made by my sisters as well.
.
As we left Subang, everywhere was jammed up, so we had to take another direction to enter the North-South highway, which delayed us abit more. Throughout the journey, I did nothing but sleep, eat, listen to music and SMS-ing my fellow ABS-ASS. Sadly, not all of em reply, but thanks a lot to those who replied! really kept me company throughout the boring 3hours+ journey.

Sushi [leftovers]. had 2 box filled with em.
.
Reached the border around 11pm, it was smooth as there were many counters opened to cater to the incoming cars from Johor, mostly Singapore cars. Because right, entering Singapore with a foreign car, after 7pm on Friday till Sunday at 12am or so, we do not have to pay a certain 'fee'.
.
As we went passed the border, I was shocked at the fact the the Causeway Bridge aint that long/far afterall. It was just a short distance to Singapore. Upon reaching, we straightaway head towards Pasir Ris, with the guide of my mum's cousin's email's directions. Get it? :)
.
Went to mum's cousin's house first at Pasir Ris to get the apartment keys' and chill out awhile, had a slight supper, that time was already 12.30am and the groom, Benedict, was still awake! The apartment is actually located very nearby the house and also close to the 'beach'. Its a 'beach' as in not really a proper beach, and the waters are dirty, filled with bacteria it seems. Hence, no one is allowed to swim.
.
The next morning, we woke up early for the church ceremony. We only slept about 4hours. It was a church located at Siglap Hill. Very the nice and awesome church.

Visit from the UK

I know I'm supposed to update this like.. few weeks back or should I say 1 month or so ago?!?! Hahahahha, so so sorry for the DELAYED post! was busy with exams and stuffs like that.

Anyhow, cousins and aunt came down from the United Kingdom during that Raya week, stayed for about 12 days at my house, with trips to Redang and Penang in between the 12 days that they were at Malaysia.

S and Aunt T slept in my room whereas M and her bf, C took the other room. They arrived on Monday the 21st of September, about 5.30pm. Dad and I went to pick them up from KLIA. It was such a great feeling meeting em again as we've never seen them for like 3years already, minus the chats we had over Skype and Msn laaa!

After picking them up, we headed straight to Subang Airport, where we had our dinner nearby, at the famous 'Hokkien Mee' restaurant! yuummmy~! We headed home straight after dinner as Uncle Peter was in KL with his family, hence he decided to drop by our house to see my aunt and cousins, so we were home by 8.30pm or so. Unpacked all their stuffs and gifts and things they brought for us from the UK. Aunt got me a sorta-gangsta-look-like-chain whereas S got me a pair of comfy sneakers and sandals! Thanks a bunch! ;)

The next morning, we head for breakfast, which is dimsum, with Uncle Peter and his family, before cousins and aunt and Christine and dad went to 'tour' KL. The rest of us went back to our respective homes. lol
Their first and foremost destination = Batu Caves

KLCC

Some temple which they stopped by on the way

At the temple, dont he look like a monkey? :D

S impersonating the TIGER. RoaR!!

Butterfliess~
The following day, they woke up very early to catch their flight to Penang via AirAsia. Dad called a cab to send them to LCCT. The rest of the days without them were very much dull and boring! :(

Them at some place in Penang

Humungous buggyy~!

Snakess~ :)

The couple's turn! M's so scared of it, look at her!

On Saturday the 26th, it was M's birthday. Various, and I mean all sorts of plans were made for this day, like where to eat, who to invite, what to do after that. And finally, we decided to eat at Klang, seafood that is. There wasnt alot of people at that restaurant, it was either we were late or maybe just early.
Anyway, the food was scrumptious/awesome! :) fills my stomache well!

They got back on Tuesday, which they went to Pyramid straightaway after they landed at Subang Airport, dad fetched em there. And that was where they bought us our "surprise gift". Thank you so, so much for it!! We're really enjoying it! even my friends hahaha

Another family photo taken
We went to Petaling Street on Wednesday, they waited for me to end class at 11am before taking the KTM to KL Sentral. Took a loooonnngggg stroll from Sentral to Pasar Seni, then to Petaling Street. They bought loads of souvenirs from Pasar Seni, bargained like crap, just for their friends back in the UK.
Thursday morning, they had breakfast with TaiYeePoh

and then they head to Putrajaya

Just a slight update

Although this may be an obsolete news to my CAT classmates, but to the rest, you may not know this shockingknown fact.

Its the fact that I somehowexpectedly FAILED my audit paper. And its only in CAT level. I have not even advanced to ACCA, which the papers are undeniably even tougher than what we can expect now.

Truthfully, I'm a person who never fails my exam papers, any of them!! except coming close for BM once la! And luckily, its only a Progress Test, not to mention if failing the real/bona fide paper in December. That would have pulled me back and have to wait another 6months before taking that paper again in June2010. Hence, I really dont wanna fail! ;(

The all so special 'reward' I got for failing a paper apparently, is a free lunch from Veena! :). Well, we had this bet going on between us, that if we do fail any of our papers, we would buy the person who failed a lunch, to console his/her feelings. hahahaha. It may sound ridiculous, but it is beneficial to one party. I almost got my 2nd lunch for T7, as I thought I'd fail it too, considering the fact that I left some theory questions unfinished.

All the best to CAT + ACCA students in their upcoming MOCK! ;) studyy hard oh! Gambateeeh~

Veena's 18th

For her 18th birthday, we ate here! :)

At the beginning, we planned to watch movie at Pyramid first, then head on to Subang Parade to eat TGIF since she loves the waiters there... but it was fully booked, hence we made a last-minute change to Italiannies at Pyramid instead. I went with SoonSoon since he came over to my house earlier to avoid the traffic at the roundabout there. He came, he took a short nap and we left about 6.30pm.

Upon reaching there, we head on to MPH first, to hangout while waiting for the rest to arrive, mana tau, they were all already there, waiting for us instead. malunyeee

Thats big sister taking 'revenge' on her. hahaha

Her margaritta!

Anil's flexed muscle, as usual

I like this picture of us somehow. Big sister not ready. hahaha

ASS-ABS with an extra A behind. hahaha

The whole gang that was there

Veena and I

hotttieesss. hahahaa

Soon after, we left about 9something, SanSan fetched me, Sydney and Aaron back to my house to get my sister's car, then she left for home. We went to pick JY up instead at his house. Then, we head on to Veena's house near MidValley. We accidentally took the wrong road, therefore ending up in a bad traffic jam. Eventually, we arrived at her house about 11 or so. A very long journey instead.

We quickly settled down, played a few games of pool and I had this challenge..
To down a glass of whisky+coke with veena. hahaha;) awesomeee

Thats her house

While everyone was still 'okay', look who went down already. hahahaha

He's trying his very best to look sober. really!

Slept only around 5am, as oober high veena doesnt permit me to sleep early. which I dont know why at all =.=". and guess what time we woke up? freaking 7something! hahaha. so-not-enough-sleep lahh!

So, through out the rest of the Saturday, I was really tired+sleepy, felt like a zombie walking omgwtf. ahhaa. We did our moral presentation that morning as well, a video actually. lol. was very glad with the outcome, not that bad though, my first time kayy! hehehhe

Had lunch about 1something, then head back home. slept soon after I got homee. niceeee:)

Riding through the heavy rain

As I reached home after a ride through the heavy rain yesterday, my whole pants and shoes were soaked with water, some rainwater, some from the puddles formed on the ground as my bike went through the bad weather. I had to leave the college as I've been waiting there with Aaron, one of my classmates who stay at the hostel. Our friend, San San actually drove us back to the college[thanks! :)] and we made a dash towards any place to take cover as the rain suddenly got heavier, heavier and heavier!!

So, we took cover for like half an hour or so, before God decided to make the rain a little 'weaker'. Hence, we decided to go, with Aaron making a run towards his hostel, carrying his very the expensive DSLR in a bag, and another bag which contained his books. He was actually very afraid that his DSLR would spoil due to the rainwater, hence he took a plastic bag from me and tried his best to cover the opening to his camera.

As he left, it was my turn to go home. The weather can be very weird sometimes, it was not that heavy at the college, but as I entered the mainroad, it got even heavier!! and going through the puddles did not help much either, as water splashed to my pants and shoes, dirty water somemore~!

I took my bathe awhile after I got home, before that, my sisters asked me how I got home when its raining cats and dogs, I just told them I had to ride through the rain lor, what else?! eldest sister wasnt working anyway, she took leave. Hehehe.

As I was bathing, I was thinking, riding in the rain was not sodamn scary!! Sometimes, I can feel my bike skidding one-sided when I changed gear or brake. I was rushing to get home, at the same time, trying to be careful of the cars that are approaching me. Thoughts started rushing through my head and I suddenly thought WHAT IF one day, someone I really knew and close to, knocked me down in the heavy rain. I would really feel disheartened but I guess if Im 'gone', I wouldnt even realise rightt?but I'm thinking it might leave an impact on that particular person who knocked me down accidentally.

and guess who was the friends I thought of at that particular moment? :)

its the whole bunch of them except Li Ting, one by one going through my head, wondering what if they were the person who knocked me down someday. :(

Alveena> Hahahahaa, up till now, she and Aaron are the ones who hasn't gotten their driving license yet, but I have faith she'll get hers soon and she'll be driving safely on the road as she has already gotten her first bad experience on the road. I presume she'll be more careful on the road. hehe, gives me assurance huh?

SanSan> Our 'boss' hahahaha. She's the one who ferries us around most of the time, with her powerful Myvi. Out of nowhere, you can see her speed suddenly haha. But sometimes, its good as sometimes, we rush back for class or any other reasons. She might have a high probability of knocking me down someday! [JOKING!!]

Sydney> someone who already has a driving license but still cannot get permission from Sansan to drive her Myvi, maybe cos she doesnt believe in her driving skills yet? but I do believe she's been driving whenever she's back at her house, but just not that often yet I suppose. Nevertheless, I THINK she drives safely la. Never been in her car/experience her driving yet.

SoonSoon> our manual-driven friend. I actually have this affinity for manual cars, just that I dont quite have a car that I can use except my dad's. hahaha. His driving is very much better than mine! :) but I encourage him to fix his BRAKES! after those events that Alveena and Yin Wen told us.

Aaron> ini budak, selalu drive illegally at his hometown, so lazy to get his license! always no time to go for driving lessons and all. hahahaha. I never experience his driving before, but judging from Sydney's and SanSan's comments, its.... hahaha. Anyway, I believe he'll drive safely la when he's gotten his license. very responsible person. chances of knocking me down not that high la. LOL

Last but not least, I have my own part to play as well, that is, ride safely! but if God really wanna take me away now, I cant do anything to change that either :)

PS: no offence to anyone kayy! just a thought hahaha

Lake Toba 2009

Finally, the long-awaited trip has finally arrived, something that we all have been craving for months before, as our parents had pre-booked the tickets earlier in March or so, when the tickets were first issued. Very cheap I would say, AirAsia rightt? :)

Our flight to Medan was at 4.55pm, but it got delayed till about 5.30pm or so, AirAsia la huh. :D atleast it didnt delayed like an hour or even longer, cos right, waiting at LCCT can kill you. nothing to do, expensive food to buy, so we can only sit down and wait to enter the plane.

I was too hungry, had to eat something.

Upon arriving at Polonia Airport, Medan at around 5.30pm local time, we took our luggages and headed out to look for our driver, whereby he will be holding a card, with my dad's name on it. Hahaha, its a usual thing everywhere, same as when we went ChiangMai some time ago. Like a few days ago, dad told us not to let ANYONE grab our bags and carry em for us, this is because, they will want $$ from us later. Hence, myself, being a forgetful person, unconsciously allowed an unknown dude to take the luggage that I was carrying. Instantaneously, my dad gave a sort-of-bitch stare at him, which he gave back the bag to us straightaway. hahahaha

He picked us up in a Kijang Innova, well, most of the cars there are like Toyota cars. hahaha. Then, he brought us to the hotel first, to unpack our stuffs, bathe, before heading for dinner with Bapa Eriksson(thats how they address him here). Guess what, the hotel we were staying at for that night is actually a five-star hotel. Its called Hotel Danau Toba International bytheway. It doesnt really looked like one to us, but I heard the 5-star hotel in Jakarta is wayyy better! :)

At least, I had the privilege of staying in a 5-star hotel, which I believe I've never been to one before. hahaha.
Sorry for the expression, was just too hungry waiting for the food

His Wife, Eriksson, Dad & Mum

Eriksson's Family, Dad & Mum

All of us [notice alot of Chinese families right?its actually a Chinese-founded restaurant]

Sis, me and bro

A car we spotted outside, very rare LOL

After that, we went rounding around the town abit, not really alot of nightlife there la. Hence, headed back to hotel not long after, watched some movie on HBO/StarMovie before sleeping on the couch. YES, a couch! cos we only had 2 rooms and the four of us sleep in a room. LOL. brother slept inbetween my sisters. So, I chose to sleep on the couch instead. :)

Next morning, took bathe and all, then went down for breakfast. Before that, we explored the swimming pool and took some pictures :)
The pool

A bar sort of place at the pool

Notice the person up there? he climbed super duper fast weii!

Oooops! and now I wonder how I got an A for SPM. >,<

And then...we saw the signboard heading towards...thiss!

As you can see, it really stinks! :P

Nice, aint it?

And we saw a BIG, BIG fish, which actually has people living it

Our top 'model' of the year!

After hours and hours of driving, we finally reached the hotel that we're supposed to stay at Parappat, a town at Lake Toba. But, to our dismay, some miscommunication happened between Eriksson's friend and the staff of the hotel. Bapa Eriksson actually helped us to book a hotel here as well, but something happened in between la. And the condition of the hotel was not really pleasing, as some construction was being carried out nearby. So, we opted for another hotel instead.

And, we ended up in a hotel which has this..

And this of course

Presenting MissMr .....

I was just too hungry at that very moment, anything will do

Trying to follow the slanting trees..FAILED!

For dinner, I had these..awesome combination!

As the night was very hot[its supposed to be cooling btw] and also, there was no fan/air-cond, and mosquitoes were somewhere. We know cos we got bitten by em! worst night every. cos right, after falling asleep for like a while, u can listen to the mosquito buzzing in your ears. omgwth la!

there's this part where we all just lie down quietly, so that the mosquito will somehow land somewhere near us, and then we can smack em dead! but to no avail, we failed, it was either too quick or it bit us somewhere that we cant notice.

and thats why i ended up like this, clad in only boxers!
notice my clothes on the right-hand side of the picture?:)

And the next morning, we took these

and the kawaii loook

Picture taken from the ferry, if im not mistaken. notice the flat lands of the mountain. that is what differentiates a normal mountain from a volcano mountain :)

We even transported the car to the island at the middle of the lake. hahaha, we used the car to travel around the island[no idea about its name]. but..we ferry-ed across first, then the car came later with the driver about 1something.

so we did our shopping for souvenirs whilst waiting for the car to arrive at the island. Dad was a real good bargainer with the people there. I cant stop laughing at how he bargains over the price of the souvenirs. Eriksson actually advised us to lower the asking price to atleast half, as the prices they first offer are cut-throat prices!

we're suppose to wear some cloth over ourselves as a sign of respect, but we were afraid that we had to pay for it, so we decided not to enter lo
Guess what this is? :)

its actually a place where the ashes of the family members are kept. very grandeur of it rightt?

another one of those special buildings to keep the ashes
On the island, we decided to stay at Tomok, or should I say, already booked for us by Eriksson. Its called Hotel Carolina. Its features almost the same as the one at Parappat, but the major difference is the pricing! its so bloody cheap for a room of 2 queen beds a night! aweeesomee! and although there's no aircond/fan, it wasnt hot at all at night! hahaha
totally agreeedd!

how lake toba came about :)

There was this board for us to use to suicidejump into the lake.
Step 1: Thinking how to jump first

Step 2: Raise hands high high to get some momentum

Step 3: Bend your knees as you prepare to 'take-off'
Gets lower..

and lower...

and face out to the lake and jump! :)

But I dare not! hahahaa. >,<>

Notice my brother holding on to my hand. hahahaha

So we ended up soaking our feet in the cold, cold water

A very clear warning sign of not making noise at night I think

The next morning, we left VERY early. about 6am Indon time, because we were rushing to catch the car-ferry back to Parappat before heading towards Medan to catch our flight back at 5pm.
people washing clothes and even bathing using the lake water!

notice the small girl helping to wash as well?

Picture before we left the island

Upon reaching Parappat, we embarked on our journey to Medan through Siantar, where we will stop by to have our breakfast.
saw some Harley Davidson beca. famous for it here!

Our breakfast venue. KokTong, one of the best coffeeshops in Siantar.

Dad and driver, Paneng was his name I think
